I want to address this question:

What makes us different?

There are travel ball teams/organizations everywhere you look. It’s such an easy barrier of entry that you can start a team. Knowing that, I really appreciate you guys trusting us and allowing us to work with your son. I want to highlight a few things that I think sets us apart.

1) The coaching. I look at the word “coach” in 2 different words that makes it completely different. Coach the noun vs Coach the verb. The noun version of Coach is merely a title. It’s a sign of respect but with little context. What I want to establish and I think we are on the right track, is living out the verb of a coach. Coaching is mentoring. It’s educational. It’s transformative. Our coaches are working to make better players and better people. We are here to be positive male role models for our younger generation and I take this very seriously. It is a responsibility that you often see used lightly in the travel baseball world. For us being a coach is transformative NOT transactional.

2) The accountability. To create a great transformative experience, we must hold the players to a standard. 706 BB will hold our kids accountable to on field and off field behavior. We will work to train athletes to play with the controllables of attitude and effort. We aren’t going to be enablers but will enable growth and maturity through accountability.

3) Development. We teach that development is a process and a long one at that. Games are the test and that’s it. Work ethic and skill acquisition is most important at the youth level. We want to track development both subjectively and objectively. This will be a working progress as we start establishing more quantitative ways to track progress. Our coaches should be passing the game down, educating and developing better baseball players. As mentioned, LTAD is the foundation of what we do. We are working to make great players for the 90ft field, prepare them for life, and equip them with traits that will make them better husbands, fathers, and friends.

We do this all through our core values: Perseverance, Humility, Attitude, Sportsmanship, Effort. PHASE. We know these teenage years can be tough for parents but remember things come in seasons and this is just a PHASE. A phase that we hope to empower and teach the game so they are prepared for the next level.
